A USB desk lamp for a home office with no spare outlet
Share
A spare wall outlet is a luxury in a studio, a dorm, or a bedroom that doubled as an office. The usual fix is a bigger power strip. That adds bulk, heat, and another brick for a lamp you only use at night.
USB power is the quieter fix. If your laptop charger, monitor, or 4-port wall adapter already has a USB-A or USB-C port, the lamp can live on that rail. Move the laptop, take the lamp. No second cable taped to the table leg.
What to look for
- USB power, not a proprietary barrel plug
- A footprint small enough for a 120 cm desk
- A light you can dim or switch warmer at night
- A shape you are willing to look at when the camera is on
Shipping from a supplier warehouse to Europe and the USA usually takes 7–20 business days. That is slower than a same-day marketplace. It is the tradeoff for a compact lamp that does not need its own wall socket.
We stock a sculptural option here: the “?” USB desk lamp.
